2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum –  As you probably know, compact crossovers have really become the go-to vehicle for american families and among the compact crossovers three of them dominate the segment. One of those is this nissan rogue.

What You Have to Get From 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum

Now late last year we took a look at the all-new rogue, but now today i’m standing next to the fully loaded platinum model to see what’s special about this trim level, but without further ado. So as soon as you walk up to this new 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum, you’re, going to immediately realize this is the new generation, because it looks very different from the outgoing model.

Exterior

The first thing that strikes me is just that in general, it’s kind of more squared off, and that starts up here in the front with our signature. V-Motion grille it’s, a lot larger than the outgoing generation and, as you can see, it does have the chrome trim across all of the models.

However, down here at the bottom, this chrome accent is going to be on the platinum trim. Only now let’s. Take a look at the lighting, though, because that’s, the biggest departure. We have the split design, so we obviously have three different lighting clusters at the top.

Here we have our led daytime running light on the platinum trim level. We also have the led turn signal indicator and then down below every single trim level is going to come with full led headlights, both low and high beams, then down at the very bottom.

This is where you’re, going to find your led fog lights for sl and platinum. Now, one area that’s, not super different for the platinum trim, will be the wheels. These are the 19 inch alloy wheels. They’re shared between the sl and the platinum trim level.

However, i think the design looks pretty similar to even the wheels that you get on the sv trim level, but moving beyond that. You’ll notice up here at the mirrors. These are black because they match with our model’s, color contrast, roof mason, we’ll talk about that in just a second, but as far as the features of the mirrors, they are going to be heated and they have standard blind Spot monitoring now before we get around to the rear design.

I do want to talk about a few things here at the side. Now, as far as this all new 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum is concerned in the length it’s, actually one and a half inches shorter than the previous generation, although it does actually look bigger, since it has a more boxy design than the previous generation.

I also want to point out something you’re, probably noticing right now, and that’s, that we have the two-tone roof on this one, which really kind of gives it a much more stylish look than a lot in this class offer.

Now, as far as the rear itself, i’m, a really big fan of how this rogue looks, looks very classy and tasteful from the rear. So, as far as the tail lights are concerned, these are going to be partially led tail lights.

The brake light portion is led, however, the turn signal and reverse light are both incandescent. We have 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum branding and then dropping down. This is where you’re, going to find a platinum exclusive feature and the fact that this is silver to give it a nicer look.

Interior

So with this new generation of 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum does nicely include their intelligent entry system and the remote start system as standard on all but the base model and then to get inside the vehicle itself.

However, the platinum has some special touches, including these seats, which really make it look even more upscale than the other trim levels. So talking about your different interior, color and material options.

First, the other trim levels run the gamut as far as your different materials. So we start with cloth, leatherette leather and then, when you get up here to the platinum model, this comes with semi aniline leather, which is basically unheard of in this segment.

As far as your color options, you have this black or you have a special tan color. Now, turning over here to your door trim, you’ll, see the same nice materials reflected up here. So we have a leather trim that runs across the armrest, with double stitching as well as above it, and the top part of the door trim and dashboard will be finished in a color contrast, brown.

Of course, you have standard two person, memory, seating on the platinum and our front. Two windows are one touch auto up and down checking out the seats themselves. These are the eight-way power adjusting seats with two-way lumbar support that most of the 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum have.

But of course it’s, the leather that really stands out like i said this is basically unheard of to have such high quality leather inside of a model in this um segment, the rav4 tops out with leatherette, for instance, and this is really really High quality love the quilted design and just really makes things feel way more expensive than you expect at this price point.

So, as you would probably expect this, 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum is a very nice place to spend time across your upper dash. This is all going to be finished and a soft touch plastic finished in that brown color i already mentioned, and then, as we move to the middle area, all this is going to be covered in a leatherette with the double color contrast stitching detail down below that.

We have a really realistic, looking faux wood trim and as we move down here, we have more leatherette to cover the side of the console for your knee to rest against. I just want to comment on how high quality everything feels in here really solid materials and put together absolutely flawlessly now to start up the road put your foot on the brake and press the dash mounted button, [, Music, ] and right as soon as you start.

It up, you will notice one of your big reasons that you might want to upgrade to the platinum trim level, and that is this right here. Your gigantic 12.3 inch full reconfigurable gauge cluster. This is giving me really strong audi virtual cockpit vibes in both the design and the fact that the resolution is extremely high.

This is a very, very nice looking gauge. Cluster has a ton of different options regarding safety systems, and things like that. You can also press this button right here and you can change to a meter view which emphasizes your large information and then minimizes your speed and your tachometer off to the side.

Now, in addition to that, the platinum is also going to throw in a large 10.8 inch head up display now coming back to the steering wheel. This does have nissan’s latest design, and it is flat bottom across every trim level.

Um, of course, on the platinum grade is going to be leather wrapped. It is manual adjusting and you have standard heating all right. So now let’s, go ahead and dig into interior stretch where this 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum is really a strong plate.

So you push that button here and it does have the butterfly opening center console and what’s inside you can see. There is a lot of space. It’s very deep, and there’s. A felt lining at the bottom as well, and you know what time it is you got ta grab out your thick deck of coupons and put it to the test yeah there.

We go no problem whatsoever, those sink down nice and deep, so it won’t, be any problem. Closing the lid. However, there’s, quite a bit more storage, so we have our two cup holders up here in the front.

We have a large area. This is a wireless phone charging pad for the platinum trim only, and you also have your regular connections right there, and in addition to that, you also have this large center pass-through, which also has a rubber lining at the bottom.

Of course, that passer is going to come courtesy of the fact that we now have an electronic shifter. This is nissan’s, new design kind of squared off just going to press the button on the side, pull back for drive.

You can pull back once again. If you want to have some manual shift simulation and you can use these paddle shifters for that for reverse, of course, you’ll, just push up in the opposite direction, and when you do, you will find nissan’s around view.

2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum Feature

Monitor pull up now, if you watched our past review, you will know that this actually comes standard on all, but the very base model. However, there’s, something different about this platinum. If you look closely you’ll notice, this actually has a much higher resolution that’s, because this is the platinum exclusive.

Enhanced version, so i’m, certainly liking the resolution on board with this, and it does have moving object, detection as well and then for park, just press the p right on top and then behind the shifter.

You have your electronic parking brake and your brake hold function over here. You have your various drive modes with that dedicated controller, and then we’ll, go ahead and check out the climate controls, so this here is actually a three zone: automatic climate control setup on the sl and the platinum.

It also has a little bit higher resolution as well, which you can kind of tell better in person than you can right here with this camera, with all the reflections and whatnot. That being said, this does run the typical nissan software.

So you notice you have your home page, the little typical widgets that you can select in and out of, we of course have standard built-in navigation, again really nice performance and a really high resolution display now, for Those of you who prefer to use android, auto and apple carplay, of course, both of them, are on this system.

However, i will point out that exclusive to this nine inch display is the fact that you have wireless apple carplay now moving above that we have our auto dimming, mirror standard on sl and platinum and then up at the very top here.

This is where you will, find your panoramic sunroof again also included on the sl and the platinum trim level. As you can see, it is very large and this front panel does open up alrighty guys. I’m in the 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum, rear seat and i have to say this is a really really nice rear seat and especially in this platinum trim level.

There’s, also a lot of features. So i’ll talk about the space. First, though, we have 39 inches of both leg and headroom, which is an improvement over the previous generation 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum, and that does place it as more than the toyota rav4.

So, behind receding position i have, i would say, eight to nine inches of your leg room and my feet can easily slide up underneath the seat. Now, as far as the feature set is concerned, we are going to have vents that’s, actually going to be a standard feature, and then we have down below that.

We do have our own climate controls, which is a class exclusive feature to have that it’s, really rare for a vehicle in the segment to have their own climate controls in the rear and then off to the right of that.

We also have three stage heated, rear seats, steering on the platinum and then down below that we have a charging usb a usb type c, and i do also want to point out. We have another class exclusive feature of rear window: sun shades.

Then, if we fold down the center armrest, we do have cup holders inside now walking up to the tailgate. If you go for the sl trim or higher you’re, also going to have the hands-free power tailgate. So just wave your foot under the bumper to open up, and it does work really quite well now.

As far as the space itself is concerned, you’re, going to have 37 cubic feet of space behind the second row seats that expands all the way up to 74 cubic feet if you fold them down now. As far as how that compares to the competition.

That is larger than the toyota rav4 and quite a bit larger than the previous generation 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum and as far as how they finished it back here up underneath the floor, if we lift that up, we do have a Little bit of storage – and of course you do have nissan’s famous divide and hide cargo storage system back here.

So you can kind of rearrange the floor in any way that’s, going to make hauling whatever you need most useful and then off to the side. We do have our levers to fold the seats which do fold 60. 40 split.

Now, if you go for one of the higher end rogues, you are going to have a power passenger seat, which is quite nice not available on the rav4. And then, if we open up the glove box, we have a really really great size, glove box and it also is kind of recessed as well.

So when we throw our coupons in not only do they fit, they also kind of just like fall down and fit in there just fine, and that’s really important on a family vehicle like this. Now, as far as sun visor, we do have a mirror, as was a light, and we can also detach and extend all right, and there are 60 in this 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum.

2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum Specification

So right from the start, there um go ahead and mention the engine. What we’ve got on board is a two and a half liter, naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, so we don’t, have any turbo charging or anything going on, and that’s gon na be making 181 horsepower 181 pound-feet of torque.

That’s, actually going to be up 11 horsepower over the last generation model. I think power feels plentiful. You know it’s, not gonna like blow you away or anything, but it’s very typical for what you expect in this class yeah, and at this time they’re, not offering a hybrid or anything else like that.

So this is to be the only engine option for the roof, so also go ahead and talk about the transmission, as you probably expect from a nissan product, we do have a continuously variable transmission. However, it it’s, not the same as the outgoing generation they’ve, been making refinements um to all their newest products, and just like with the sentra and the ultima that we have driven. I’m impressed by this cvt because it does have the really well-tuned d-step logic.

So a lot of people may not even actually realize that this is a contingency variable, because you do have the shift simulation. That’s going on and as far as the transmission itself, you know when you put your foot down, you do get an immediate response, so it really doesn’t feel um like that old-school cbt, that you maybe didn’T enjoy driving yeah all right and let’s, go ahead and talk about the fuel economy for this road.

Now, like i mentioned, there is not a hybrid or anything like that, but the fuel economy figures are very good. Thanks to that cvt transmission uh, so we have 26 34 29 for the front wheel, drive model and then for all-wheel drive.

You’re, going to come in at 28 combined and that’s. Pretty much this one of the strongest that you can get in the entire segment, all right guys it’s, slam dunk and air ball time, and we’ll start out today with the slam dunk by just saying that we really love This 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum Specification cabin um, especially with the platinum that kind of fixes a lot of what we had complained about previously uh you’re, good and um.

You know so the screen right here, the upgraded resolution, the gauges it’s. Just a lot um nicer and this cabin was already really really quite nice. To start with, about, with the mention of the slam dunk, we have to mention the air ball.

We decided that’s, going to be just a lack of available power, train options right now. This is a fine engine um, but we would like to see some extra things offered, like maybe a hybrid model that you can get with the rav4 or more powerful engine that you can get in like a ford escape or something like that.

But we haven’t talked a lot about the ride, quality or anything like that, and i think that’s, a really strong suit for the rogue. Now, of course, any rogue in the past has always ridden well, and this is no exception um and even in this platinum trim, it rides so so.

Well now i will also get a sound level reading. Once we get up to speed here, um we’re caught by the red light. Unfortunately, but we will get a sound level reading, so we can compare to some of the rivals right and just kind of on the topic of the ride.

We do have you know a nice soft and comfortable ride, but the driving dynamics are so much more improved from the outgoing generation, particularly in your steering and handling. As you can see really fast responding setup here, um and i actually have like some feel the old 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum it was uh very disconnected.

This is a big step up yeah. Now let’s, get the sound reading going 55 miles per hour, wow excellent. Before we start slowing down there, we are looking at 54.2 decibels. I know for a fact the vast majority of luxury cars we test are around 54 decibels, so it really just goes to show you.

How much the 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum Price?

This 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum is very comfort focused and especially here in this platinum trim. You’re, going to get a lot of luxury as well, and we can also mention the pricing information um. So for the platinum it’s, going to start at $35.430 bucks and if you want all wheel, drive that’s going to be a $1.400 charge.

On top of that now, this one is fully loaded fully loaded. So we have everything that can be thrown on it, as well as the destination charge of a thousand. Ninety five bucks brings this one to thirty nine thousand four hundred ten dollars, and that is before discounts, so all in all definitely uh really like what nissan has done with this all new 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum, very impressive product um.

You know, i think, maybe there’s a chance. We might actually see like that that order kind of switch up between these, the 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum , crv and rav4, because nissan has really done so much compelling things to this rogue as we’ve discussed all throughout this video that i really wouldn’t be surprised at all by that.
